Mangal Dosha occurs when Mars (Mangal) is placed in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house of the birth chart. This dosha is believed to create friction, delay and conflict in marriage. The Mangal Dosha Nivaran Puja at the sacred Mangalanatha Temple in Ujjain — the only temple in India where Mangal is said to originate — is considered the most effective remedy. The puja includes Mangal Yantra puja, red flower offering, Mangal stotra recitation, Kumbh Vivah ritual (where required) and Havan.
